Blake was born and raised in Red Deer. He grew up playing hockey, tennis, and soccer within the community and graduated high school from Ecole Notre Dame. After high school, he took time off from his education to play Junior “A” hockey in the BCHL and AJHL. Blake began his post secondary education at Red Deer College where he gained his Kinesiology diploma and transferred to the University of Alberta to finish his bachelor of physical education. .

Blake obtained his Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta and then moved back to Red Deer to pursue a career as a physiotherapist. Blake has also been a part-time instructor in the Occupational and Physical therapy assistant program (OPTA) for the past five years. Blake has taken training to become a Certified Manual Therapist and is on the Physiotherapy Alberta roster for spinal manipulation. He has also been certified in Functional Dry Needling (FDN) and is on the Physiotherapy Alberta roster for dry needling (also called IMS).

Blake has a strong belief that both active and passive therapies are necessary for complete resolution and prevention of injuries. He has a passion for treating all levels of athletes. Jen was born and raised in the small town of Goderich located in southwest Ontario. She grew up playing club volleyball and competitive softball. After high school, Jen moved to London where she obtained a Bachelor of Science (Honours Biology and Physiology) from the University of Western Ontario. Jen later moved to Alberta where she obtained her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta.

Since graduating, Jen has worked in private practice clinics in Leduc and around Central Alberta. She has continued her education by completing several post-graduate courses including: Women’s Health, Diagnostic Imaging (ability to refer), Acupuncture, Functional Dry Needling (FDN or IMS), Spinal Manipulation, and Peripheral Manipulation.

Jen enjoys treating a variety of conditions from head-to-toe. She especially enjoys treating chronic headaches, jaw dysfunction, and hip pain. Jen also loves connecting with women in their prenatal and post-partum journeys and empowering them for labour and delivery, as well as returning to activity. Her goal is to get her patients back to doing what they love through a manual hands-on approach and exercise prescription.

Darby grew up in Three Hills, Alberta and spent most of her adolescent years playing numerous sports. It was through participating in competitive sports and having a fair share of her own injuries she became interested in the area of injury and rehabilitation. Darby completed her Master of Science in Physiotherapy (MScPT) in 2021 at University College Dublin in Ireland with first class honors. Prior to this, she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (BScKin) from the University of Alberta in 2018. Darby has worked in a variety of clinical settings and enjoys helping her clients get back to doing what they love. Chris was born & raised in Cardiff, Wales. Growing up his sport of choice was rugby which he represented School, Varsity and Club levels. He has always had a keen interest in the Medical Sciences and followed this through to a Degreein Applied Biology at the University of Nottingham (UK). Through his interest in the rehabilitation field Chris initially gained qualifications to become Massage Therapist. He transitioned to working as a PT Aide and then graduated as a Physiotherapist in 2009 from Sheffield Hallam University (UK).

Chris gained broad experience in assessment, diagnosis and treatment methods across many clinical areas including Sports Therapy, Outpatient and Inpatient Physiotherapy, Trauma Orthopaedics, Hand Therapy, Acute Care, Elderly care and Rheumatology while working for the NHS in the United Kingdom.

Since Moving to Canada in 2014, Chris has worked in Private Practice and Rehab settings in Alberta, He believes listening to his clients and critical thinking are essential skills in helping people accomplish their individual rehabilitation goals. Mike is an ultramarathon runner who followed his passion for the sport to become a physiotherapist. Originally from a small town in Northern Ontario, Mike came to Alberta for other work and discovered trail running in the process. He returned to school and obtained a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree (University of Calgary) and a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy (University of Alberta). He has been working as a physiotherapist since 2017.

Mike began his career as a physiotherapist in Calgary, working at a busy clinic and gaining experience working with many different conditions and injuries. He has been coaching runners for 10 years and has experience helping runners with running-related injuries, injury prevention and performance. Mike is licensed to perform dry-needling (IMS) and spinal manipulations. He has a hands-on approach to treatment and uses it in combination with therapeutic exercise.

Outside of work you can find Mike with his family and running on the trails. He has run many 50km, 100km and 160km+ races and continues to add more to his resume.

Nadia was born and raise in Quebec and moved to Red Deer in 2008. She has been practicing massage therapy since 2010. Although her boys have made her take a long pause, she has been back in the work force since 2019 and couldn’t be happier! Being an athlete herself, she knows the importance of recovery and pain relief. She is all about making sure her clients are feeling their best and loves to hear about their progress. Devan was born and raised in Alberta, living in Provost and Red Deer growing up. She grew up competitively downhill skiing and playing rugby. After her time as an athlete, Devan coached rugby and skiing, working with many different ages. She also coached skiing with the Central Alberta Disabled Ski team (CADS), working with individuals of different ages and abilities. Devan also worked with many different sports teams as a trainer, as well worked in different private physiotherapy clinics as an assistant and exercise therapist prior to pursuing her career as a physiotherapist.

Devan started her post-secondary education at Red Deer College, receiving her Kinesiology diploma and then continued on to complete her Bachelor of Science, majoring in Human Sciences, through Athabasca University. She then moved to the flat lands of Saskatchewan, to complete the Masters of Physical Therapy program at the University of Saskatchewan, in Saskatoon. Devan enjoys working with all ages, with a special interest working in pediatrics. She has completed has completed the Building Blocks hosted by KinActive Kids, focusing on pediatric developmental milestones and pediatric pelvic floor conditions. Darwin is a Registered Physiotherapist who graduated with a Bachelors degree in Physiotherapy from MGR Medical University in India. After working extensively with people with complex orthopaedic, neurological and neuro-paediatric conditions, he pursued a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from Cardiff University, UK with his specialization in neuro rehabilitation.

Subsequently, he immigrated to Canada and completed his registration as a Physiotherapist. Darwin has worked extensively with patients related to WCB, MVA, post fracture, post-surgical and sports related injuries in private practice settings across Central Alberta and Northern Saskatchewan. He has also worked in a variety of health care settings from acute care, long-term care, home care and outpatient care within AHS. He is currently working as a full time Physiotherapist in Community Health in Red Deer and is thrilled to join the Stride team part-time in the evenings.

He loves to learn and develop a wide range of skills and certifications to add to his physiotherapy practice. He has attained certification in Concussion Management, TMJ dysfunction and Biomedical Dry Needling Level 1 and Level 2 courses. He is on the Physiotherapy Alberta needling roster (for Dry Needling or IMS). He has also completed orthopaedic manual therapy level 1 and currently pursuing level 2 upper quadrant from the University of Saskatchewan.

He creates a highly effective therapeutic experience by combining advanced manual therapy, dry needling, therapeutic modalities, and exercise therapy. He is also very passionate about empowering his patients and ensures that they learn self-management tips and techniques in addition to his top-notch hands-on treatment. Brittany was born and raised in Drayton Valley where she was highly involved in competitive figure skating and soccer. From her love of sport and movement, she went on to pursue her Kinesiology degree at the University of Alberta with a focus on Sport Performance.

After moving to Red Deer, she had 2 children, Kollyn & Jax, and worked in both the exercise therapy world as well as fitness. Prism was born and raised in the Yukon and grew up spending her summers in Germany spending time with her extended family. Growing up in the Yukon, she spent a lot of time being outdoors, hiking and camping. While being active as a child and teenager, she was introduced to massage and natural healers. This is where she became passionate to help others with their physical problems. She made Red Deer her home after graduating from the Massage Therapy program at Lethbridge College in the Spring of 2020.

Julia was born and raised in Oakville, Ontario. Having been involved in various sports over the years, she experienced her own personal injuries where Physiotherapy played a key role in her recovery.

Julia graduated with her Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo followed by a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from McMaster University. After graduating, she worked at a private practice clinic in Ontario before moving to Red Deer.

Julia has a strong interest in orthopaedics and has completed her level 1 manual therapy certification through the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. She has also been certified in Functional Dry Needling (FDN) and is on the Physiotherapy Alberta needling roster (also known as IMS). Eric was born and raised in Hanna, Alberta. After growing up and playing sports in a rural community, it wasn’t long before his family outgrew small town life and migrated to Red Deer where he attended and graduated from Hunting Hills High School. Immediately after high school, he attended Red Deer College where he started his degree in Biological Sciences specializing on the human immune system. He completed his degree with distinction in 2012 from the University of Alberta. Shortly thereafter, Eric pursued a Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta and graduated in 2015.

As an advocate for community stewardship and continuing education, Eric has a passion for learning from his peers and giving back to his community. Eric continues to study and practice his skills in anatomy and physiology, as a part-time instructor at Red Deer College in the Health Sciences Department. He has taken training on Traditional and Non-Traditional Acupuncture and is comfortable with various forms of dry-needling and IMS (intra-muscular stimulation). He is also certified and registered with the Alberta Physiotherapy Association to perform joint manipulations.

Eric considers himself an eternal optimist and he uses his charisma to address the challenges that his patients face with an open mind.
